Assemblymember Cheryl R. Brown, Chair of the Assembly Select Committee on Small Business Financing and Development Opportunities, will host a public hearing on exploring financing opportunities for small businesses on Friday, October 4, at the San Bernardino County Government Center at 10:00 a.m.

“Small businesses are so important because they create two-thirds of jobs in my District and contribute to California’s $1.7 trillion economy,” said Assemblymember Brown.  “By hosting this public forum in Southern California, local business owners, community leaders and the public will have the opportunity to witness and participate in this timely Assembly Select Committee hearing.”

The hearing will provide an opportunity for the committee to discuss small business financing opportunities, explore the small business climate in the Inland Empire and the state, and assess California’s  small businesses’ unique challenges.  Small business owners and the public will have an opportunity to ask questions following the panel presentations.

Government and small business agencies will participate in a Small Business Information Fair, at the San Bernardino Government Center – Rotunda,  from9:30 a.m. until 1:30 p.m.  Agencies will distribute literature, provide information and offer face-to-face time with business owners and the public.

“As a proud member of Assemblywoman Cheryl Brown’s Small Business Advisory Committee, I’m looking forward to having the Assembly Select Committee Hearing take place in the Inland Empire.  This is a great opportunity for small business owners to have their concerns addressed by the state. It’s also a great opportunity for business owners to gain a better understanding of how we can help each other succeed,” said Sally McGuire, Executive Director of the Grand Terrace Area Chamber of Commerce.
