Assemblymember Williams Gets Perfect Rating from California’s Senior Citizens
For the third year in a row, Assemblymember Das Williams (D-Santa Barbara) has received a perfect rating from the California Congress of Seniors on its annual legislative report card.
Williams received a 100 percent score for supporting bills important to seniors and their families. Each year the state’s leading senior citizens group reports the voting records of California Legislators on bills affecting the lives of millions of senior citizens throughout California.
FI am proud to support legislation that improves the quality of life for our seniors,” said Assemblymember Williams. “We have a societal obligation to honor, uplift and care for our seniors in the greatest way possible.”
The report card is aimed to help seniors understand how their elected officials have responded to the issues facing families and communities.
Williams voted in support of bills that help and protect seniors in a variety of ways. Legislation included bills that provide homecare and nursing home services; help create fair residential utility rates; and strengthen discounts for low-income telephone customers. The legislature also worked to protect seniors from elder abuse by regulating private homecare workers.
