Bethel hosts amazing VC Jesus Fest (Festival de Jesus) and 8th Annual HIV/AIDS Health Fair

What an amazing free all-day Christian Concert Outreach event held on Saturday, September 28, in Oxnard at Community Center East Park.

Jesus Fest, hosted by Bethel AME Church in Oxnard, brought in over a dozen performers including: Michael McCurtis Group; Bethel AME Praise Dancers and Bobby Richards; Fountain of Life Choir, Kyla Valverde; United Pentecostal Church Signs Team, Becky Arellano; Song in Spanish, Silvia Guido, Miracle Center; Hardstep Ministries Rap/Dancers, Vince Serrano; Agape Mime Group, Jennifer Vogue; Acoustic Spirit Band, Rich Handley Harbor Church; ELCC Mime Group, Barbara Simon; Samoan Church, El Rio Choir, Arieta Falibae; St. Paul Baptist Church, Praise Team, Linda Brown; and Ephraim Manasseh Choir.

The well attended event featured Richard Linares as the master of ceremonies. Rev. Cox, Pastor Lonnie McCowan, Bishop Princeton Allen, Pastor Ken Johnson, Pastor Raya Cain and Pastor Steve Perez also shared the stage.
A variety of different ethnic groups and ages came to celebrate. The one common denominator was their love for the Lord. “I love the Lord and he loves us all,” said Jesus Lopez. “I am here with my family and I am happy to see black and brown celebrating together. God sees us all as Christians.”

The event also featured the 8th Annual HIV/AIDS Health Fair that included free testing for blood pressure, body mass index, blood sugar and HIV/AIDS testing.

The event concluded with the Glory Awards honoring businesses, organizations, individuals and ministries throughout Ventura County. The awardees were:
