California Strawberry Festival Boasts International Stars and Grammy Winners
This year’s 31st Annual California Strawberry Festival May 17th and 18th in Oxnard hits all the right notes with the internationally-acclaimed, “Young Dubliners” and Grammy award winning, “Mariachi Divas” heading the marquee of talented performers.
Two festival stages will be alive with tunes ranging from classic rock, reggae and world folk to soul, R&B and funk. Ventura County’s own “Dirty Rice,” will be a guaranteed fan favorite.
When attendees need a break from dancing, they can visit a variety of 50 food booths that will serve up strawberry treats with scrumptious strawberry tarts, funnel cakes and even strawberry pizza, or they can visit the make your own strawberry shortcake tent, among others. Contests allow attendees to showcase their creativity and artistic skills. Even children can get in on the fun by dressing in their favorite berry attire for the Berry Best Dressed Baby contest.
Held on 15 pristine acres at the Strawberry Meadows (3250 South Rose Avenue, Oxnard), festival hours are 10:00 am until 6:30 p.m. Admission prices range from $5 to $12. A free express shuttle service runs from six convenient locations off the 101 freeway to make getting there easy, saving $10 on parking.
