Californian Member of the Congressional Black Caucus Participates in Local ACA Townhall
On Saturday, August 3, Rep. Barbara Lee (CA-13) participated as a special guest in the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation Health Braintrust’s “Making Good Health MY Reality” tour at Beebe Memorial Cathedral, in Oakland.
The day-long event included sessions on navigating the Medicaid and Health Insurance exchanges, understanding how Community Health Centers meet the unique health and healthcare needs of underserved communities and on helping small business owners and employees understand the impact the Affordable Care Act will have on employee coverage. The day ended with a community health screening fair where patients received free, on-site, health screenings from certified health care providers.
