Take the challenge and enter to win the ‘Great Oxnard Salsa Challenge 2014’ taking place on Sunday, July 27 during the 21st Annual Oxnard Salsa Festival!

Presented by the Oxnard Salsa Festival and ‘the kitchen’ in downtown Oxnard, amateur salsa chefs are invited to compete to win! The contest is limited to 50 salsas and pre-registration is required. The entry fee is $25 per salsa and includes one souvenir t-shirt per entry. Entry forms are due by Friday, July 11, 2014 and are available online at www.oxnardsalsafestival.com or by calling 805-247-0197.

Winning salsas will be selected in several categories including Best Red, Best Green, Best Fruit, Best Mild, Best Medium, and Best Hot. The Judge’s Choice Winner (the best of the best!) will be awarded with a $100 cash prize from the Oxnard Salsa Festival. First place category winners receive a Festival ‘goodie bag’ and a $30 restaurant gift certificate from ‘the kitchen’ eatery, which was featured on ‘Diners, Drive-ins & Dives’ with Guy Fieri, on the Food Network.

The Great Oxnard Salsa Challenge is one of the many attractions at the 21st Annual Oxnard Salsa Festival taking place July 26 & 27 from 11 am to 7 pmat Plaza Park, Fifth and ‘B’ Streets.  Other event highlights include musical entertainment, the Salsa Tasting Tent, an eclectic vendor marketplace, international foods, kid korner, cooking demonstrations and the popular, ‘Dancing with out Community Stars’ dance contest & charity fundraiser.

The 21st Annual Oxnard Salsa Festival is presented by the Oxnard Downtowners, and sponsored by Gold Coast Broadcasting, Bud Light, Mission Foods, Shock Top, Ventura County Star, and many other generous community partners.
