Senators Dianne Feinstein and Barbara Boxer (both D-Calif.) and Congressman Henry A. Waxman (D-Calif.) urged President Obama to request funds to house homeless veterans on the West Los Angeles Department of Veterans Affairs Campus be included in his fiscal year 2016 budget.

“We believe solving homelessness for veterans in Los Angeles should be a national priority,” the lawmakers wrote. “As such, we specifically ask that you request an authorization for the Department of Veterans Affairs to enter into enhanced use leases for buildings 205 and 208 as envisioned in S. 1987 and H.R. 2004. Alternatively, we ask that you include funding in your Fiscal Year

2016 budget request to modify buildings 205 and 208 to provide homeless housing.”
