BAPAC hosts 23rd Annual Juneteenth Festival
Is celebrating Juneteenth still relevant?
“Yes! Yes! Yes!,” was the reply from everyone asked at this years’ annual celebration.
Juneteenth has become an occasion for reflection and time to recognize our achievements in life and economic development.
Some even equated the holiday with having the same importance among African-Americans as does Cinco de Mayo among Latinos.
The 23rd Annual Juneteenth Festival returned to Oxnard on Saturday, June 15 from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Plaza Park on the corner of ‘C’ and 5th Street in downtown Oxnard.
Many people from different cultures attended. The celebration included something for everyone.
