Boys & Girls Club of Venice RBI vs. Harlem RBI (Senior Baseball Division)

Quick Start: Harlem RBI took an early lead after scoring two runs in the top of the first inning. Boys & Girls Club of Venice RBI responded with two runs in the first thanks to a steal of home by Timothy Ravare and an RBI double by Ashton Edior.

Presidential Blast: In the bottom of the fifth inning, Venice outfielder Roosevelt Bates blew the game open with a grand slam to give his team a 9-3 lead. After working a walk to get on base, outfielder Jamiel Robinson then scored the fifth run of the inning.

Well Done: Venice starter Jacob Gurwell delivered a dominant performance, striking out nine while only allowing one run, eight hits and a walk over seven innings.

S-Class: Shortstop Matthew Sierra and first baseman Jacob Santiago delivered two hits apiece for Harlem RBI.

Next Up: Venice advances to tonight’s (9:00 p.m. CT) semifinal match-up vs. Harrisburg RBI (currently underway).  Harlem RBI has been eliminated from tournament play in the 2013 RBI World Series.
