Braille Institute Offers Free Low Vision Consultations in Oxnard
Oxnard — If you or someone you know are dealing with the effects of vision loss, Braille Institute can help. Free low vision consultations will be available on Monday, February 24, from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., at Wilson Senior Center, located at 3900 350 N. “C” Street.
During one-hour private sessions, a Low Vision Rehabilitation specialist will assess visual skills, offer techniques to make the most of existing vision, determine what low vision devices are needed to complete daily tasks and make recommendations. Consultants also will offer demonstrations of operating devices that enlarge printed material, such as lighted magnifiers and closed-circuit televisions. If you would like to receive additional information or schedule an appointment for a free consultation, call the Braille Institute Santa Barbara Office at (805) 682-6222.
