CAC’s Positive Circle Committee Hosts Social Justice Poetry Slam Fundraiser
On Friday, January 31, Community Advocacy Coalition’s (CAC) Positive Circle Committee hosted a poetry slam fundraiser at Tomas Café located at 622 South ‘A’ Street, from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. The all age event featured a diverse line-up of talented poets and spoken word artists from the community.
Dinner and refreshments were provided as well as a number of raffle prizes donated from local businesses.
Community Advocacy Coalition is a social justice organization dedicated to improving the economic, educational, legal, health and social well-being of the African American community. They achieve this through issue-based advocacy, leadership development, cross cultural collaboration, and by serving as a core entity, providing information, and myriad resources to underserved populations throughout the region. The body performs these responsibilities with a focus on and for the ultimate benefit of engaging emerging generations.
