On Friday, September 27, Community Advocacy Coalition’s (CAC) Positive Circle Committee hosted a poetry slam fundraiser at Tomas Café located at 622 South ‘A’ Street, from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. The all age event featured a diverse line-up of talented poets and spoken word artists from the community.

In addition to poetry, the fundraiser also included face painting for kids and live art featuring artists from Save The Art Culture (STAC). Dinner and refreshments were provided as well as a number of raffle prizes donated from local businesses.

The Community Advocacy Committee is a unifying movement advocating for the transformation of black people and people of African descent to achieve greater levels of social justice in an intentional way for the greater good of our society.
