Darren Sharper Arrested on Suspicion of Rape
Former NFL defensive back Darren Sharper was arrested in Los Angeles on charges of suspicion of rape, as reported by TMZ and ProFootballTalk.
TMZ reported that Sharper has been accused of two sexual assaults, one in October 2013 and another in January 2014.
The 38-year-old analyst for the NFL Network was released on $200,000 bail, per the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department website.
ESPN.com reports that Sharper is also being investigated by the New Orleans Police Department in connection with a sexual assault allegation filed in September 2013.
Sharper played for the Green Bay Packers, Minnesota Vikings and New Orleans Saints throughout his 14-year career. He was a five-time Pro Bowler and was named First-Team All-Pro twice.
