Free Income Tax Return Preparation Available at BOE Ventura Office
Individuals and families who need help with income tax return preparation can visit the Board of Equalization’s Ventura District Office for free assistance through the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program. These free services are sponsored by BOE Chairman Jerome E. Horton and Board Member George Runner.
Individuals who are eligible may qualify for as much as $6,044 from the Earned Income Tax Credit. Taxpayers should bring proof of identification including social security cards, wage and earning statement(s) from employers, interest and dividend statements from banks, bank routing and account numbers for direct deposit, and a copy of last year’s federal and state returns if available.
The event will be every Thursday through April 10 from 9 a.m. to noon and 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. The Board of Equalization’s Ventura District Office is located at 4820 McGrath Street, Suite 260, in Ventura. Please call (805) 677-2700 for an appointment.
