Husband and wife dynamic duo receives Mayoral Proclamation for Community Service
A community champion can be anyone – a public official, a community leader, a concerned citizen, a health or human service worker, a volunteer – who works hard to improve the quality of life for their community. Whatever they do, they think of the community before themselves.
On Monday, March 3, 2014, members of the community congregated in the City of Port Hueneme, Council Conference Room, located at 250 North Ventura Road, to witness KNS ROCKSTAR receive a Mayoral Proclamation for their contributions and community service.
Port Hueneme Mayor the Honorable Jonathan Sharkey read a proclamation detailing KNS ROCKSTAR’s contributions. Mayor Sharkey said he was pleased to issue the Proclamation from the City of Port Hueneme to recognize their outstanding community service and achievements.
KNS ROCKSTAR’s proclamation was greeted with applause and a standing ovation from the Mayor, Council members and others attending the event.
One attendee said, KNS ROCKSTAR, are well known for their ‘Stop Tha Bullying & Youth Violence Tour & Campaign’ and they have shown tremendous leadership and dedication to improving our community.
The affair closed out with a positive message from KNS ROCKSTAR’ Silky. “We look at the youth in our community. We are trying to build new seeds. When you build new seeds, you build a better place to live. If we don’t start now, there is no telling where our youth are going to be.”
