Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc., Provides Maintenance of VC Highways
The members of the Ventura Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc., are providing a maintenance cleaning service of a heavily traveled section of a California highway. Working with the California Department of Transportation, the Ventura Chapter adopted the westbound section of the 126 highway from the Kimball Road overpass to the 101 freeway. Members of the Chapter gather on Saturday mornings to remove trash from the shoulder of the highway. Chapter President Milton Harrion stated, “This is only one way that Kappa Alpha Psi contributes to the community in which we live.” The Ventura Alumni Chapter has been integral to Ventura County since it was chartered on April 30, 1977. Through the years in our community, Kappa men have provided scholarships to deserving youth, supported local food banks, have mentored young men through their Guide Right Program, and participate in numerous local and civic activities each year like the Martin Luther King Jr. annual march and Juneteenth celebration. As you travel the 126 highway, watch for the men of Kappa Alpha Psi and give them a wave as you pass by.
