Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc., Supports FOOD Share Organization
The men of the Ventura Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc., continued its annual tradition of supporting the FOOD Share organization. Founded in 1983, FOOD Share feeds 75,000 people each month through charitable donations, purchased foods and the USDA. The Ventura Alumni Chapter has supported FOOD Share through annual financial contributions over the past four years. This year in an effort to do more, eight Kappa men worked in the FOOD Share warehouse unloading a delivery truck and sorting donated food items.
The Ventura Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi, Inc., was founded in 1977 and was the first Black Greek organization established in Ventura County. Historically, the Chapter’s focus is to be in service to their community. To do so, the men of the Chapter conduct various fundraising activities each year, which allows them to support Oxnard and other neighboring communities via its college scholarship program, youth mentoring programs, Adopt-A-Highway initiative and FOOD Share.
