Kevin Davis named outstanding student athlete of the year
One of the best players to ever come through Pacifica High School, Kevin Davis has been selected as the Tri County Sentry’s Outstanding Student Athlete of the Year.
Davis recently completed a record-breaking career in which he became the all-time leading scorer at Pacifica High School.
The ‘Outstanding Student Athlete of the Year’ award is the latest in a long list of honors for Davis, who was also crowned Homecoming Prince and carries a 3.1 GPA.
Davis’ rushing all-purpose yards are 612 for 24 games and career highlights include leading Pacifica to a 60-27 homecoming win over Hueneme High School.
Davis said, “It’s a team effort, but I have set a goal for rushing of 2,000 yards this season.”
You may be wondering how a young man can grow into a confident, responsible, intelligent and great athlete. It takes a village. His coach Mike Moon stated if he picked a captain today, it would be Davis.
His mom Regina Davis, an Industrial Engineer, Management Analyst said, “I always tell my kids to aim high. Don’t accept no for an answer. Always get second and third opinions.”
“Do not settle for less. Get what you want out of life.”
There is already talk of a full ride scholarship at the University of Mexico for our Outstanding Student Athlete of the Year.
