La Santa Cecilia

¡Viva el Arte de Santa Bárbara! presents La Santa Cecilia, the “Best Alternative Band of the Year,” (LA Weekly, 2012), in free family concerts at Isla Vista School at 7 pm on Friday, January 10; on Saturday, January 11, at Guadalupe City Hall, 7:30 pm; returning to Santa Barbara to perform at the Marjorie Luke Theatre at Santa Barbara Jr. High on Sunday, January 12,  at 7 pm. Named for the patron saint of music and musicians, La Santa Cecilia represents the face of a new generation with deep roots in the Los Angeles immigrant community.

La Santa Cecilia’s line-up includes guitarist Gloria Estrada, Jose (Pepe) Carlos on accordion and requinto, bassist Alex Bendana, percussionist Miguel Ramirez, drummer Hugo Vargas, and lead vocalist La Marisoul.
