Metta World Peace Says ‘China’ or ‘Arena Football’ Could Be Next

Metta World Peace

Metta World Peace seems to have a few different career paths he could take now that he’s no longer a member of the Los Angeles Lakers.

Of course, he could play for another NBA team. Or he could go to another country.

“I don’t really want to play for anybody. I don’t want to go anywhere,” World Peace told reporters at the Lakers’ practice facility. “I want to go to China, or coach or play arena football.”

World Peace added that he would have liked to play for the New York Knicks when he was in his prime, “but right now, China is way more adventurous for me.”

However, World Peace’s agent told Marc Berman of the New York Post to not take those comments too seriously.

While the Lakers decided to amnesty the man formerly known as Ron Artest after a four-year run — which included an NBA title — the other team in L.A. could be a potential landing spot.

Citing a source with knowledge of World Peace’s situation, Sam Amick of USA TODAY Sports reported that star forward would prefer to play with the Los Angeles Clippers. According to the report, his list of possible destinations also includes Brooklyn, Miami, Chicago, Oklahoma City, Indiana and San Antonio.
