Kevin Durant Makes Massive Donation to Tornado Relief Efforts

Kevin Durant

Oklahoma City Thunder star Kevin Durant donated $1 million to the Red Cross for tornado relief, as first reported by Royce Young of CBSSports.com.

The American Red Cross announced that the gift from The Durant Family Foundation is meant to match other donations and be an incentive for more people to give.

Red Cross’ regional CEO Janienne Bella told the Associated Press that the organization was thankful for the three-time NBA scoring champ’s “generosity.”

Not long after the tornado devastated the town of Moore, Okla., Durant tweeted that he was praying for the victims and posted a way for others to help.

Los Angeles Dodgers star Matt Kemp, a native of Midwest City, Okla., also made a pledge to help the victims.
