Kobe Bryant’s injury woes continue. The Los Angeles Lakers announced on Thursday that the 35-year-old star will likely be sidelined for six weeks due to a left knee injury.

Bryant suffered the fracture in his left knee during the Lakers’ victory over the Memphis Grizzlies on Tuesday night, reported Ramona Shelburne of ESPN LA.

“You hate it for Kobe,” coach Mike D’Antoni said, via the team’s official Twitter account. “He’s worked so hard to get back.”

The injury comes just six games into Bryant’s season. The 15-time All-Star missed the start of the Lakers’ 2013-2014 campaign as he recovered from a torn Achilles suffered in April. Before returning to the court, Bryant signed a two-year contract extension with the Lakers.

Given Bryant’s stature in the league and the timing of his return and contract, the injury news generated plenty of conversation on social media.
