Mission Oaks groper gets arrested
Carlos ‘Rico’ Rodriguez was arrested for allegedly groping a woman inside Vons supermarket, located at 5275 Mission Oaks Blvd in Camarillo. On March 31, a woman who had been shopping inside of Vons, told police that a man groped her breast twice, a little after 4 p.m. On Thursday, police reviewed Von’s surveillance footage and later released still camera shots to the public. With the public help in positively identifying Carlos “Rico” Rodriguez, police were able to make an arrest.
A warrant was then issued for his arrest on two counts of sexual battery and elder or dependent adult abuse. Investigators say Rodriguez allegedly walked by the woman, groped one of her breasts, walked away and quickly came back. He then acted like he was reaching for groceries and groped one of her breasts again, according to Ventura Country Sheriff’s Sgt. John Franchi.
On Friday, detectives responded to the 100 block of Caleta Drive in Camarillo and arrested Rodriguez without incident. He is being held on $20,000 bail.
Police say there may be other victims. Anyone with information regarding Rodriguez or this crime was urged to contact Detective TJ DeSalvo at (805) 388-5157.
