NBVC opens to the public for the Seabee Mud Run

mud-runVentura County, Calif. – Media are invited to cover the Seabee Mud Run from 10:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m., Saturday, April 22, at Naval Base Ventura County, Port Hueneme.

The five-kilometer course will present even more challenges than previous events, with a two-mile run, multiple mud pits, low crawls through murky water and tunnels, an over-water ropes course, and several climbing obstacles. For the first time, awards will be presented to the top three men and women in each age group. The groups are: 17 & under, 18-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39-40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, and 60+.

Interested media are asked to contact Vance Vasquez, NBVC Public Affairs Office at (805) 989-8095 by noon, Thursday, April 20 to sign up to cover the event. Media will meet at Sunkist Gate at 11:15 a.m. to be escorted on base.
