District Attorney Gregory D. Totten announced that a jury found retired police officer Michael Williamson, of Oxnard, guilty of six counts of lewd act on a child under 14, one count of aggravated sexual assault on a child under 14 by means of forcible sexual penetration, and one count of aggravated sexual assault on a child under 14 by means of rape.
The criminal indictment charged Williamson with sexual molestation of two children. The first child was molested by Williamson from 1993 through 1997. The second child was molested by Williamson from 2004 through 2008. Evidence was presented to the jury that Williamson sexually molested two additional children in the early 1990’s and in 1997. Williamson retired from the Oxnard Police Department in 2001.
Sentencing for Williamson is set for July 29,2014, at 8:30 a.m. in courtroom 44 with Superior Court Judge Charles Campbell. Williamson is facing a maximum possible sentence of 113 years to life in prison.
