Plug In, Rock On at Electric and Plug-In Vehicle Showcase at The Collection
The Collection at RiverPark will host an electric vehicle and plug-in hybrid vehicle showcase, while presenting the music of vintage rock band The Art Rockers, on Saturday, Sept. 28 from noon-4 p.m. The concert is free, but bringing a folding chair is recommended. Kid activities including face painting, so make this a family event.
Visitors can learn about plug-in electric vehicles that are currently available and made by automakers like Chevrolet, Fiat, Ford, Honda, Nissan, Smart, Tesla and Toyota. Dad can kick the tires and talk to real world EV drivers. Solar PV vendors will explain how you can easily afford to drive your electric car on sunshine.
The event is part of National Plug-In Day taking place in as many as 100 cities across the country, designed to promote the benefits of plug-in vehicles. More than 100,000 plug-in vehicles have been sold in the U.S., and several new models will be out soon. Plug-in Day events like parades and electric tailgate parties will take place nationwide on Sept. 28 and 29.
The event hosted by The Collection is co-sponsored by the Ventura Electric Vehicle Association, the Sustainable Transport Club, the Sierra Club, Ventura County Air Pollution Control District and Plug In American. Do your part for clean air, and help slow down climate change.
