SBPD Calls Ventura Man Major Drug Supplier
Santa Barbara police have arrested a Ventura man, calling him a major drug supplier in their city. 32-year-old Hernan Lizardo Gutierrez of Ventura was arrested following a two week investigation by SBPD. He is accused of possession of cocaine for sale, transportation of cocaine, possession of methamphetamine for sale and transportation of meth. During their investigation, detectives say they made a traffic stop on Gutierrez in the 200 block of W. Haley Street Wednesday morning. They say he was holding two ounces of cocaine and an ounce of methamphetamine. After his arrest, detectives served a search warrant on his residence in the 200 block of N. Garden Street in Ventura. They say they found three pounds of cocaine, 1.3 pounds of meth and over $90,000 in cash. They say the drugs were worth another $40,000. Police say they also found a “kilo press” which is used to compress drugs into rectangular shaped bricks for sale. A 9mm pistol was also found, according to police. Gutierrez was booked into the Santa Barbara County Jail with bail set at $100,000.
