Local DirtyRice 300x214 Schools Benefit from the Collection’s Summer Concert Series

Dirty Rice

The “Rock The Collection Summer Concert Series” will take place again this summer, starting with the performance of the popular local Reggae band “Dirty Rice” on June 21. Concerts will take place every Saturday from 6-8 p.m. throughout the summer (with the exception of July 19) through Aug. 20.

The concerts, which are free and open to the public, feature a mix of tribute and regional bands. The complete band lineup will be posted at www.TheCollectionRP.com after March 15.

The Collection at RiverPark’s “Rock The Collection Summer Concert Series” last summer raised $5,000 to benefit local high schools with much-need support for their music programs.

The schools that received funds from the money raised include Adolfo Camarillo High School (Camarillo), Nordhoff High (Ojai), Rio Mesa High (Oxnard), Royal High (Simi Valley), Saint Bonaventure High (Ventura) and Thousand Oaks High (Thousand Oaks).

The Collection partnered with Musicians on a Mission California and the Ventura County Arts Council to implement the grant program and provide funds for the schools to help purchase instruments, sheet music, uniforms and educational tools.

Sponsorships of the concert series are available. If interested, contact Leticia Wilson at The Collection atlwilson@centercal.com.
