Terrence J Set to Host 11th Annual McDonald’s 365Black Awards
As thousands of patrons are expected to attend this year’s 20th annual Essence Festival in New Orleans during the 4th of July weekend, McDonalds is also set to honor the honor the philanthropic efforts of selected individuals with their 365Black Awards.
The fast food giant announced actor-E! News correspondent Terrence Jenkins (aka Terrence J) and actress Tika Sumpter will host this year’s 11th annual star-studded event, which will take place on July 5 at the city’s Ernest N. Morial Convention Center.
And to compliment the event’s mantra of recognizing leaders in entertainment, humanitarianism, business, sports and inspiration for serving their respective communities, this year’s honorees include civil rights activist Rev. Al Sharpton; music executive Kevin Liles; film producer Will Packer; inspirational leader Iyanla Vanzant; former NFL athlete Dhani Jones and McDonald’s Owner/Operator Henry Coaxum.
“We are excited to recognize these outstanding individuals for their incomparable contributions to the community,” McDonald’s U.S. marketing director, Rob Jackson said in a press release.
For those who are unable to attend this year’s awards ceremony, BET Networks will broadcast the event on August 10 at 10pm EST, and on Centric on August 17 at 11pm EST.
