Tiger Woods Installed as Favorite for Open Championship at Muirfield

Tiger Woods is still the heavy favorite for the Open Championship at Muirfield according to Las Vegas bookmakers.
The three-time Open champion is an 8-1 favorite, far distancing those next at 20-1 that includes Rory McIlroy, Masters champion Adam Scott and U.S. Open champion Justin Rose.
Woods has not teed it up since finishing T-32 at the U.S. Open at Merion three weeks ago due to a strained left elbow, which he originally injured at the Players Championship and aggravated at Merion.
Missing a planned start at AT&T National two weeks ago, it’s unclear what form Woods will be in when he returns to competitive golf next week in east Lothian.
In the intervening three weeks, 2012 Open Champion Ernie Els won the BMW International in Germany and last week Graeme McDowell won his second time in 2013 at the Alstom Open de Paris, both have been installed at 25-1 favorites.
