VCCCD Vice Chair Arturo Hernández Recognized by VCSBA for 16 years of service
(VENTURA, Calif.) – Ventura County Community College District Board Vice Chair Arturo D. Hernández was recognized by the Ventura County School Boards Association (VCSBA) for 16 years of service on the VCCCD Board of Trustees at the March 13, 2017, VCSBA Dinner Meeting. Ventura County Superintendent of Schools Stan Mantooth and VCCCD Chancellor Bernard Luskin were among the guests who attended the meeting held at the Ventura County Office of Education Conference & Educational Services Center.
“Hernández has a combined total of more than 25 years of school board service, including serving on the Oxnard Union High School District and Rio School Board with 16 years at the VCCCD,” said Luskin. VCCCD Trustee and VCSBA Treasurer Stephen Blum and VCSBA President Christina Urias presented the meritorious service award to Hernández.
Hernández represents Area 5 of the VCCCD that includes Oxnard, Oxnard Shores, Mandalay Bay, Silver Strand, Hollywood Beach, Hollywood by the Sea, Channel Islands Harbor, El Rio, Nyeland Acres, Del Norte Area, Oxnard Plain, Strickland and a portion of Naval Base Ventura County Port Hueneme. He is a native of Oxnard and a lifelong Ventura County resident.
