OXNARD, Calif. – Tamale season is just around the corner! As the City of Oxnard prepares for its annual Tamale Festival on December 7, 2019, vendors are invited to register for booth space at the City’s most anticipated event.
Each year more than 8,000 community members fill Downtown Oxnard’s Plaza Park for the Tamale Festival. The City’s Recreation Division, which plans the event, is now accepting booth applications from the following: tamale vendors, other food vendors, and non-food spots for commercial or arts and crafts sellers. Booth space is assigned on a first-come, first-served basis.
“The Tamale Festival is a great opportunity to experience our community interacting,” said Terrel Harrison, Oxnard Cultural and Community Services Director. “With food, music, contests, craft vendors, and a kid’s zone, the festival provides something for everyone to enjoy.”
Now entering its twelfth year, the Oxnard Tamale Festival offers a variety of family-friendly activities. Attendees can indulge in scrumptious eats, enjoy live entertainment organized by the Lazer Broadcasting Corp, and experience the awarding of this year’s “Best Tamale” trophy. Kid-friendly activities include inflatable attractions, arts and crafts, corn hole, and more!
The Tamale Festival will take place after the City’s annual Holiday Parade, which concludes at Plaza Park, located at 500 S. C Street.
