The L.A. College Promise Program began in 2017 as a one-year educational and scholarship success program. The “Promise Program” concept has since been adopted by all California community colleges and in 2019 it was expanded to two full years with state funding support.
At LACCD, the current incoming class for the Fall 2020 Semester includes the District’s fourth cohort of about 5,000 Promise students, plus about 3,000 students who are starting their second year. Since 2017, there have been more than 16,000 who have enrolled in the program. Additional information can be found in the program’s Digital Welcome Kit.
