Oxnard-- Okay, it’s summertime, so the Concerts by the Sea series has resumed at a new location as construction is underway next to Peninsula Park.
I PERSONALLY enjoy the shows, as does the J-Train, particularly when the music from the 1960s gets featured. I doubt anyone would disagree with me, as there was lots of dancing, partying, food, camaraderie, and period clothing being worn across the park.
There are things that I appreciated about the move to Harbor View Park, specifically the parking. Access in and out is far easier, and from my perspective, after a day full of covering events and delivering the Tri County Sentry, an easier drive home is appreciated. Add to that, after the show you’re at The Harbor, which is filled with places to eat. Dinner and a concert? That’s a great evening.
I openly admit to being a concert fan from a young age. It started in the 1960s when I was a little boy and saw Guy Lombardo at the grocery store. Yup, Guy Lombardo lived in Freeport Long Island, just as I did, and when my mother saw him, she’d look at me, sparkle, and say, there is Guy Lombardo!
