Oxnard-- Okay, I bought the paper about six weeks ago, and I can honestly say my most significant change so far is all the driving and errands I perform almost daily.
THAT means writing articles, processing photos, and proofing the paper, but it also means creating invoices, going to the postal annex and then to the bank, delivering the paper in Oxnard, which is going to expand in April, not to mention going to buy postal supplies and going to the Post Office for stamps.
Okay, so here is a challenge that I wasn’t expecting. All the driving that I am doing has made me look at my delivery route and figure out ways to reduce my driving time. Using my electric car, which I bought to try and save money at the gas pump, has turned into a giant mess thanks to my utility bill going through the roof. Plainly put, if I can cut any driving down by rewriting delivery maps and not doubling back over already traveled roads, it saves money on my utility bill.
