Frosted Thoughts

Oxnard—As I have mentioned many times, I deal with a lot every week: Dialysis, which means stupid and frustrating doctor visits; surgery to start home Dialysis; running the Tri County Sentry; reporting on, writing, and taking photos for the paper, along with managing my household, paying bills, the endless cleanup, not to mention managing Daisy and Buddy, who need structure to ensure no household accidents.

I was running through my list the other day; then I got a text message from The Sarge, Sergeant Colin R. Frost, who told me he’s heading toward an undisclosed Middle East location for six months to support American troops already deployed.

I’m pretty sure that I heard during the Presidential Debate that no American Troops are deployed in a combat zone this century, and Colin sent me a LOL emoji. I guess we were all lied to again.

All I can say is that my prayers go out to Colin and everyone heading into a combat zone. Where he’s going, it’s not safe. That sets off my protect my child alarm, which started when his mother and I divorced back in 1991. When Colin was a little boy, he told his mother he…
