Oxnard—This was a grueling, uphill week as I work down the transplant list criteria. To explain, I need to show that my body is healthy before I qualify for a donor Kidney.
OKAY, let’s get it done! Well, I spent most of last Thursday at the doctor’s office submitting to a battery of tests. I was told that I needed a special blood test, which is actually 24 different blood tests. I need to schedule more because some tests require fasting.
A multitude of chest X-rays preceded the blood tests, and that night when I got up to use the bathroom, I didn’t need to turn on the hall light because I was glowing.
I also need to be cleared by a social worker who will say I have a good mindset for a new Kidney for some reason, only to find out their union is on strike. I’m going to ask for a referral.
The day took the wind out of my sails, probably because I lost so much blood and slept like a rock. It affected the J-Train, who saw all the vials of my blood and noted she had never seen so much blood being drawn.
