Oxnard - It’s no secret that Daisy is a finicky eater, and this has been a persistent problem for her.
FOR the longest time, we found some respite with this and bought her some expensive and fresh dog food; then, one day, it was over, and she would cry.
We changed flavors and mixed in some expensive dry food to change things up, which was scoffed.
The solution? The J-Train and I went to the pet store and bought food that cost $38 each week. In other words, I spend more money per meal on Daisy than I spend on myself. I’m not complaining; she’s a good little girl, and I don’t advocate the “you’ll eat it when you get hungry enough” mindset. Daisy is 16.5 years old and should eat what she likes. She started eating the next morning and determined her own mealtime.
Buddy is grateful for any dinner, wags his tail, and is always excited to eat and walk.
My next challenge is Thanksgiving, and since I’ve always spent the day cooking, relying on my years of experience running restaurants, I’m trying to make a palatable dinner without salt, potassium, and phosphorus that’s diabetic-friendly.
