Frosted Thoughts

Oxnard—Things keep rolling along for me. Last week, I made some bad choices, and this week, I’m catching things that, if I had missed them, would have hurt me.

THIS has been going on since I was a child. During gym class at Our Holy Redeemer School, Mr. Mills, our lacrosse coach, would volunteer his afternoons to throw us passes.

While everyone crossed the middle of the schoolyard, I ran deep toward the fence. Mr. Mills hit me with a perfect spiral. All the other kids were jealous.

This continued through Little League, where I spent time playing catcher and first base. Time after time, I would have to dig a ball out of the ground, as well as run to the bleachers to catch a fly ball. The coach would scream, nice catch, as an inning ended.

In junior high school, we’d play sandlot football, and I’d catch passes, while my friends would scream, ‘"Nice catch, Frosty!"

Even Janis is getting with the program. We were at the store on Sunday, and as we all know, it was hotter than haydee outside. I was walking away from the car, and she noticed the back windows were open. The…
