Frosted Thoughts

Oxnard—Normally, I start most of my Frosted posts with a goofy observation, but that’s not happening this time.

I WAS getting ready to deliver the paper last Sunday, and I heard the news that the former first-round center and Jets ring-of-fame member, Nick Mangold, lost his battle with kidney failure.

I cried just like I cried for every brother and sister who loses this battle, and it’s still going on today.

I reached out to Holley, Nick’s wife, and expressed my condolences. I started crying again while I was typing my message to her. I haven’t heard back from her, but I didn’t expect to; she’s got funeral arrangements to make.

I finally calmed down and fell asleep. I woke up to throw up, along with low blood sugar. . If that’s not enough, I was shaking tremendously. As I crouched over the toilet, something snapped, and I thought I had to do something to stop this horrible disease.

All my fellow brothers and sisters need our kidneys. With that said, I’ve reached out to an organ donor organization and asked them to get involved.

What I want is simple. An SKU image that can be downloaded by anyone.…
