Oxnard—Okay, no one can tell me that prayer doesn’t work. Thanks to a whole bunch of prayers, more than I’ve ever prayed in my life, Janis starts her new job today at a restaurant in Ventura.
SHE followed my advice, followed up with the hiring manager, and after a few false starts, she is on the payroll. I’m proud of her!!!
I also have to thank Claudia Garrett, who pushed Janis’s attributes to the hiring manager and made sure she had a job. On her last day outside the workforce, she spent the day doing all the things she likes: reading, napping, playing puzzle games on her tablet, but she took the time to help good old Chris, and went to the store to buy me apples and sparkling water.
The phone rang in the afternoon, and she’s on her way back to the store to buy black shirts and non-skid shoes. When she sees the selection, she’ll be epically unimpressed. All the best today, Honey. You’ll make great new friends, find the sense of family you long for in the work force, and I’ll be praying for you.
I’m listening to the Jets game, and I didn’t expect…
