Oxnard—So, 2026 is off and running, and I hope the new year brings you amazing joy. I too have a wish list, an Oxnard wish list, and I’m sure under Alex Nguyen’s careful guidance, the City will flourish.
UP first is my wish for the East Oxnard Superfund site. Hopefully the area will be cleaned up and developed so it flourishes in the 2030s and beyond.
My second 2026 wish is for Heritage Square, and for the new bathroom to be finally installed, which should calm many residents down.
For the Carnegie Arts Museum Proposed Arts Center, let’s hope that everybody finally realizes that Alex Nguyen is not robbing the City of its precious treasures. He’s fixing the place while people complain, and in the end, it will be a community center for all the arts in Oxnard and beyond.
That the ballfields in South Lamar continue to attract competitive teams, and the youth in Prowers County stay inspired athletes.
That the new Homeless Solutions Center, Casa de Carmen, which already has people outside, is successful, and provides relief.
I hope the Oxnard Police Department continues with its enforcement; that means safer streets for everybody.
