Oxnard-- Just for a change, I decided to step out of the norm and did something different. I stopped writing and watched the Jets game on television.
IT’S uncommon for me to stop and root for my favorite football team on television, but I decided I could use a break.
It was nice to stop and just relax for a while. The Jets won the game and beat the Giants, which made me happy.
I went back to work afterward, which is my usual blend of writing, accounting tasks to keep the Tri County Sentry moving forward and trying to get a grip on the endless sea of mess and clutter around a new residence. I’m making progress, but I’m not there yet.
I did get an interview done with Kevin Todd from the Oxnard Fire Department this weekend about their Explorer program, which is an excellent way for youngsters to fill up their schedules with positive experiences. The kids are learning Fire Department basics that can be pursued through life and can mean a rewarding career.
