Oxnard-- Well, I know saying goodbye to 2020 was a pleasure, but 2021 was an insane mixture of good and evil.
SO, just for fun, I’ll highlight the good things, and I’ll also pay homage to Seinfeld and Festivus, a festival for the rest of us, and have my own Airing of Grievances.
Let’s start with the grievances, and the first place we’ll go is the utility bill but think back to January.
You all know that I decided to purchase an electric car to avoid the gas pump. Okay, when the J-Train and I went electric, my electric bill went up about $20, which seemed like a good decision.
Guess what?!! I just paid my electric bill the other day for this month, and it cost me $196. In other words, my bill went up by $70 from the original adjusted cost. I did a story a couple of weeks ago about how the company had to pay for improvements to the power grid, but the problem with that excuse is that when you run a utility, you’re supposed to allocate money to make such improvements. Of course, they also said the cost of power at the source…
