Oxnard—I think it’s safe to say that I am too old to take on such an ambitious move, and you can bet that nothing is more rewarding than my map stating that I’ve reached my destination.
LET me back up a bit, well, about a year, and say that goal one for this trip was to not make as many mistakes as last year.
The big mistake in 2023 was telling the J-Train to get all our stuff ready. She did get all her stuff, but she somehow managed to forget my insulin, our car chargers, and the power supplies to my laptops.
That meant a rather expensive visit to Amazon to buy replacement parts, which slowed things down considerably for my wallet.
Mistakes happen, I get that, so that got me talking to the J-Train about how I’m setting a reminder to bring my things; after all, they are my things, anyway, so I bought myself a bag with a carrier to tote my insulin, test kit, blood pressure meds, everything I need for the road.
