Oxnard--I have been back for a little over a week, and now that I’m feeling as human as I get, it’s time to reflect a little bit.
FOR starters, I have to say that I appreciate the movers who packed my truck for doing me such a great favor by taking apart the cheap kitchen table I bought a few years back.
While in transport, it truly helped me when they bent the frame, making it next to impossible to put it back together. Reassembling the thing took a team effort with the J-Train, which was an extended event because neither of us is mechanically inclined. We got it done, finally, and that meant the J-Train was at the table surfing away, having a great time. There is no problem involved with this; it just makes me feel good that she can sit and surf.
So we keep getting unpacked slowly, and at some point, we’ll be settled. I was going through my receipts from the trip, and the one thing I noticed was that the most expensive hotel we stayed at was the one that advertises how inexpensive they are. It was an interesting lesson.
