Frosted Thoughts

Oxnard--It’s always amazing to me how you can roll through life, and before you know it, disaster strikes, and everything goes sideways.

IN other words, it’s a typical Monday, which starts with delivering the paper, stopping at my mail annex to check my box, and then it’s time to write.

That’s when things went sideways. I’d started typing, and to capitalize a word, you know, hit the shift key, it sticks, and everything is in caps, which is a big problem.

I stopped and spent some time cleaning the keyboard, which helped some, but that meant every time I had to hit either shift key, I’d have to stop for a minute, and it shifted down.

I spent most of the day trying to write at a pace that would make glacial drift seem like a 100-yard dash, and I decided it was time to make a purchase.

Usually, I’d order something and have it delivered, but there wasn’t any time. Now it was Tuesday, the paper had to be written, and there was no time for those types of choices.

Needless to say, I spend a significant amount of time writing, meaning I need something of professional quality.…
