Frosted Thoughts

Oxnard—Operation Get the House Ready for Home Kidney Care is in full swing, which means a lot of cleaning, organizing, and basically making the home safe for yours truly.

THAT presents some challenges, as the J-Train has lots of stuff that needs a place to go. Storage units we had in the past were damaged during our move home, so we bought new furniture to organize her stuff.

That meant assembling storage units, a bookcase or two, and a new TV stand, which has always been an enormous challenge.

Rather than argue, we talked about how to work together to complete these little projects. We read the instructions, downloaded some instructional videos, and slowly built the bookcase step-by-step.

In the end, I reminded her that actual communication, instead of arguing, is the key to a happy relationship, and she agreed.

Saturday was busy, as we got up early to deliver the paper and stopped to cover the Salsa Festival at Plaza Park. It was such a happy event, and it made my day.
