Frosted Thoughts

Oxnard—Things roll along as best as possible in my life; I run the Tri County Sentry, cover community and government stories, deliver the paper, manage the chaos of my daily life, and somehow go to my Kidney treatments to stay healthy.

PART of the overall care means a strict diet with massive limitations, and that means I’ve lost quite a bit of weight. Okay, more on that in a minute, but in between all that is the doctor who tells me that my diet has too much potassium.

I asked what in my diet needed to go away, and the doctor told me to stop eating so many vegetables. Boy, oh Boy, I wish my Mother were here now to hear this. My Mother spent hours getting us to eat our veggies.

I spent the majority of the weekend researching suitable meal replacements and found enough to keep moving forward. It’s simple: you adapt, overcome, and move forward.

Since food no longer tastes appealing, which is worse after the new restrictions, I’ve gotten pretty skinny. That means clothes shopping, which is not my favorite activity.
