Oxnard-- Just like everyone else, the J-Train and I are doing what we can to save water so we can make it through the drought.
I’VE done some stories to try and inform the public and get them with the program, and I’d be a hypocrite if I didn’t do what I could.
I guess that means more sacrifices, you know, to go along with cutting back on groceries at the store because of inflation, including cutting premium services from my cable company and cutting out contributing to my retirement plan. I’ve lost about 70 pounds, and it all started when the prices went up.
Water sacrifice number one, which pains me, is cutting back on the number of showers I take and replacing them with a washcloth to clean the dirty spots.
It’s too bad because I love long hot showers. They help me relax, which isn’t always my best thing. Give up number two is the dishwasher, as I have taken to cleaning cutlery by using my old beer mug, filling it with soapy water, and then rinsing the knives, forks, and spoons clean.
